Great Infant Gifts
When a new baby is born, it is customary to present the mother with infant
gifts. Depending upon whether or not the mother had a baby shower will determine
when you would present your gifts. However, if you are close friends with the
family, you might choose to give additional infant gifts after the baby is born
as well. There are many items that mom and the new baby will need, and the
perfect way to alleviate some of that stress and burden from the new family is
to give infant gifts that are both practical and useful. It’s a good idea to
select infant gifts that will help mom during the early days of her baby’s life,
since she will be hard pressed for time, tired, and will be very busy taking
care of her new bundle of joy.
If you would like to make a gift basket for the new mom you can use any large
basket for the base of your gift. Infant gift baskets can be designed with a
theme in mind, and can include anything that you like. Pink and blue are typical
color choices for boys and girls, but you can also use light yellow, green,
peach, and white for both genders. Baby layette sets, shampoo, brushes and
combs, teddy bears, rattles, pacifiers, bath sets, hooded towels, all make
wonderful additions to infant gift baskets. They are always appreciated and make
wonderful gifts whether being given at the baby shower or after the baby is
born.
After you have selected the basket that you will use, you can fill it with
shredded paper, this helps ensure that your gifts will fit closely within the
basket. When you are finished arranging the items that you have selected, you
can wrap the entire basket in a large piece of cellophane. It is good to secure
the top of the cellophane with an elastic or rubber band. You can then finish
the top of the cellophane with a decorative piece of string.
